BIO-LEADERSHIP IN PRACTICE

We work like nature, as a web of people and projects, redefining leadership for the planet.

The Bio-Leadership Project is designed to work like nature, like an ecosystem supporting other parts of the community to extraordinary things.

We believe this is important because the way we work as human systems represents the future we will grow.

In a world facing vast and complex challenges, we ourselves must demonstrate a way of working that reconnects as a whole.

We support the ecosystem in three ways:

01

The Bio-Leadership Fellowship

a journey helping people from across the world work on challenges and questions while working with nature.

02

Bio-Leadership Consultancy

a team supporting others in developing Bio-Leadership across organisations and communities.

03

Bio-Leadership System Projects

a series of projects supporting change in specific sectors by working with Bio-Leadership.

BIO-LEADERSHIP CONSULTANCY

Our Bio-Leadership Consultancy helps others grow stories fit for the future.

Our consultancy team is a group that has dedicated much of life and work to reconnecting people and nature.

We bring together skills from leadership, learning, systems-thinking, design, communications, policy, communications, nature-connection, activism and art with a great dose of revolutionary spirit.

As a ‘practice team’, our vision is to grow help great stories, capable of growing a new form of leadership, with nature, for the world.

Our work spans different forms of programme across organisational, team, social and personal learning and change

Most importantly, we ourselves work in ways inspired by nature, guided by honesty, connection, courage, and inquiry.

We help organisations who are changing the story of leadership, including Patagonia, the World Benchmarking Alliance, Amani Institute, the Barbican, Better Food and others.

THE BIO-LEADERSHIP SYSTEM PROJECTS

Bio-Leadership-Project-System-Projects.jpg

Our System Projects are about guiding people on journeys to help change whole systems.

This could mean a sector, a place, or a field of work. We invite ideas for new working group inquiries from across our ecosystem, as well as developing our own.

Each System Project is steered by one of our practice team and partners from the sector, bringing their group together in ways that unearth new thinking and practical ways forward.

To find out more about our System Projects, check out our Human Development System Project.

We are actively exploring what new System Projects to work on, do get in touch if you would like to know more.

 DESIGN PRINCIPLES

How we know it’s
Bio-Leadership…

  • It looks at things as living systems.

  • It cares for life.

  • It trusts that something special happens when we walk through a forest.

  • It’s honest about our ecological emergency.

  • It balances different ways of knowing, with head, hands, body and heart.

  • It works from the ground-up, understanding circularity, regeneration and localism

  • It knows that we hear each other better when we cook together and sit around the fire.

  • It gives space to be human - to feel all of the tensions and emotions of the messy and urgent times we live in.

  • It values spacious qualities, vulnerability and inquiry.

  • It knows autumn and winter are just as important as spring and summer.

  • It uses inquiry and experimentation as tools for complexity.

  • It is revolutionary.

  • It looks to lessons and ideas from across time and cultures.

  • It recognises that life is a miracle, something to take care of, for ourselves and many others.
