The Bio-Leadership Project helps people and organisations meet 21st Century challenges by drawing inspiration from, and working in partnership with, Nature.

The Bio-Leadership Project is a response to three big trends:

The search for meaning.

The need to address global challenges and opportunities
in smarter and more connected ways.

The need to restore and rebalance our relationships
with natural systems.

Too many of our everyday systems and organisational models hold us back from doing these things well. However, Nature is a perfect partner in finding new ways to transform and organise our human systems, from businesses to cities to schools.

Our aim is to help to do this, bringing together people from leadership, innovation, design, ecology, research and sustainability to do so.

Our vision is to make profound changes to how we grow as human systems, in order to meet the greatest challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century.

As we launch in 2016, we are working on consultancy,
research and development programmes.

The Purpose Ecology

This is an exciting partnership with Swarm, a collaborative innovation company. Together, we are running a project to help more organisations grow generatively by cultivating deeper purpose into their work. The process will involve two day workshops accompanied by online learning, collaborative group working and a practical ‘action inquiry’ process – all supported by Swarm’s first class innovation know-how and our own special ingredients, inspired by Nature. Leadership on the edge of Living Systems: Research and Learning Programme

Leadership on the edge of Living Systems is a research programme aiming to help organisations become more adaptive and better connected by working more as living systems. Through the work we will interview leaders who are operating on ‘the edge’ of living systems, we will interview thought leaders and ‘pioneers’ bringing living systems approaches into the world and we host spaces to work learn and work with emerging ideas and issues.  For more information click here.

Individually we have been working on a number of initiatives to support organisational capacities for innovation, resilience, adaptability – and personal qualities such as presence, awareness and systemic capability. Bio-Empathy & Bio-Leadership in Brazil

Over the past 18 months we have been asked to facilitate a ‘Bio-Empathy’ module for Amani Institute’s outstanding Social Innovation management programme. The Bio-Empathy module, which takes place over four days, helps participants deeply reconnect with Nature while asking questions about how to lead a different kind of change in the world. We are now running a wider Bio-Leadership training programme in Brazil, culminating in a gathering in Spring.
