The Bio-Leadership Project helps people meet 21st century challenges by working with  nature. We are helping a new generation of pioneers and organisations to change the world by changing the DNA of leadership and human innovation.

The status quo of leadership and human innovation is no longer fit for purpose.

Our human systems – the way we organise ourselves – are at the root of the challenges we are trying to address in the world.

But a new way to live and work is emerging – a form of development that is adaptive, connected, regenerative, long-lasting and designed with nature at its heart.

Bio-Leadership is about growing this new way of working for the benefit of all people and planet.

We work across learning, leadership, social innovation, systems change and nature connection to help a new generation of people and organisations transform not only their own structures and systems, but the very DNA of leadership to be fit for our times.

Patagonia Leadership Development

How does a global pioneer like Patagonia help its people grow? We are partnering with the company on its leadership and learning programmes in Europe as it begins to activate its updated mission to protect the home planet. Details of a major headline programme will be shared later in 2019.

World Benchmarking Alliance

The World Benchmarking Alliance aims to change global business by connecting an extraordinary community of organisations across sectors to lead actions around the Sustainable Development Goals. We are supporting their thinking and learning strategies with a living system approach.

Amani Institute

The outstanding Social Innovation management programme at Brazil’s Amani Institute is training future social leaders at a time of increased ecological urgency. We have developed a module that helps participants design and lead a different kind of change through reconnection with nature. Look out for more programmes in 2019.

Bio-Leadership Beacons

A new way of working wants to emerge in the world, inspired by the principles of nature. Our vision is to support and facilitate this emergence by connecting people and organisations who are navigating these uncharted waters, by sharing their amazing stories, and by supporting new ways to grow this evolution. Find out more about our Beacons project here.

Events and Programmes

Bio-Leadership Ground Workshops

Our introductory 3-day prorgammes are a helpful first dive into Bio-Leadership. Each Ground Workshop is a journey designed around three strands of Bio-Leadership:
  1. Tools and Stories
  2. Personal Qualities
  3. Working as a collaborative field

Over the coming months we will be hosting Ground Workshops in a number of places:

  • UK – Our July workshop just took place, but we will announce new Autumn and 2020 dates soon – more information here
  • Netherlands – 27-29th November 2019, Epe – more information here.
  • Brazil (March 2020)

Bio-Leadership Connections Events

Our Bio-Leadership Connections events are a chance to meet the team, connect with Bio-Leadership frames and stories, and meet like-minded people and pioneers. Our last Bio-Leadership Connection evenings took place in London and Amsterdam in May. We will announce new Connections Event dates for Autumn and Winter soon!

Deep Transformation with Nature

This workshop brings together organisational learning, deep nature connection and tools drawn from ancient traditions to explore how we guide deep change with the help of nature. The next workshop will be taking place in Central Europe, in May 2020. You can find more information here.

First Bio-Leadership Online Journey (Winter 2019/2020)

If you can’t make one of our in-person events, we are planning an online introduction to Bio-Leadership that you might like. Please get in touch if you’d like us to send you more news about this later in the year.

Bio-Leadership 12 month journey (to launch later in 2020)

We are calling out for expressions of interest for a first year-long Bio-Leadership Programme. We think it will start in Autumn 2020. To register interest, please let us know via connect@bio-leadership.org.

People

Our intention as the Bio-Leadership is to grow how nature grows – as an ecology of people, skills and resources to help us transform better human systems. Rather than a fixed ‘team’, we are working through different kinds of connection and movemement. The current ‘Practice Team’ is going through a shared journey to explore the strands of Bio-Leadership, and how to weave them into work and projects. Alongside this, different advisors and learning specialists will help us be as good and as helpful as we can. The Bio-Leadership Project was founded by Andres Roberts
